Examples of polaroid lifts........
You need:
- An exposed polaroid.
- A piece of watercolour paper at least a little bigger than the polaroid.
- A scalpel or a pair of scissors.
- 1 or 2 watercolor brush.
- Boilling (from kettle) and cold water.
- 2 trays.
- 2 trays.
- Optional glossy varnish such as acrylic varnish.
The basic method.....
- Gather the brushes and cut watercolour paper to the desired size, pour boilling water out of the kettle into one of the trays and cold water into the other.

- Put the polaroid into the boiling water and leave for a few minutes occasionally moving around with a brush untill either the clear plastic front or the black backing begin to peal off then keep in the water and use one of the brushes to brush the rest of the photo away and do the same for the other side.
- Once both sides are off the emulsion use a brush to transfer it into the tray of cold water.
- Once in the cold water use one or two brushes to straighten it out and then slide the watercolour paper underneath it and then lift it out.
- When on the paper use brush or fingers to manipulate it to get your desired effect.
